Wine Tasting

You were made

Of pride and honor,

Dry, bittersweet –

Like a full-bodied Merlot.

I want to drink you,

Filling my lips

With your oak.

You were made

To worship.

Allow me to roll

Your fruit on my tongue,

Taste the salt

Of your skin-

Fleshy

With a hint of

Opulence.

Steely,

Refined and smooth,

Your time was chosen

Perfectly.

Cigar box flavored -

Charred,

With a hint of smoke.

Allow me

To slowly sip

Your complex notions

On a leather chair.

Seedy and gritty,

Like delicate black currants,

Placed between my lips.
