My eyes opened,

To the ethereal blue light filtering in

To touch my eyes with a new day.

I knew instantly,

That you had gone.

Stretching, I can feel

The labor of your love.

Reminiscent.

Reminding me

Of a night spent

A casualty of your amusement.

Smiling -

As I had to forfeit my losses

To your game

In flesh.

Turning over

I catch a faint

Recollection of your scent –

Unique.

A blend of rosemary, cedar,

earthy moss and soft leather.

I reach for my robe

Rising to face the world;

Only to see a trail

Of amethyst kisses

Left between my thighs.

You whispered a bargain,

I dare not refuse.

Stepping off of the precipice

Into your prepared abyss.
