Moon Showers

Tonight, I stood out under the stars,

Watching the great light of the Moon.

I watched it fall from the sky,

Exploding

Covering the Earth

In golden showers of fireworks.

The Sun

Witnessing its sacrifice,

Grew brighter.

She chose to burn out

Hotter, sooner –

Because she knew

Her heart shattered

with the loss of the Moon.

His love for her

So great,

He wanted to show her

What it meant to burn — brightly.

To become all

She was ever meant to be.

His love so strong,

He threw his life down

At her feet,

So, she could become

The finest star

In all the galaxies.
