From My Heart to Blue

Come, take a seat,

It may be a while.

I’m not always so sweet,

And you don’t have to smile.

There may be some lost words;

I can’t remember which.

But you can get closer,

And give me a little kiss.

I think of how much

I wish you were here with me,

How a lost one tried to get in touch

Of the pieces remaining…

But I could not hear them.

For the train thundering through

My mind right then.

All I could think of was you.

I will dance to the words;

A song just for you —

Grind my hips into yours.

Will you love me out of the blue?

As I was on my way to you today

I looked at the colors of the sky —

Shades of blue twisting gray

Turbulent as my heart cries

Can I touch you there? Yes.

And I’ll pretend not to care,
